  i've just been playing with a perl script which gives you a countdown to any date you input and put in the date of my first wedding anniversary.

  scarily it's only 6 months away so i need to start planning where to go and what to do.

  any suggestions?.

  you know, the last little thing that blew your patience out of the water and forced you to face up to the fact that you were in a cult that doesn't believe in the bible so much as it believes in it's own power structure?.

  for me it was beards.

  stupid i know and possibly the most trivial of things to be 'stumbled' over but to me it was the epitomy of what was wrong with the witnesses - arbitrary rules poking their noses into the lives of people where they had no business.

  ok, there's another forum where i post where there's a pretty raging discussion going on about dubness.

  as the in house exdub i have taken the mantle of the jw apologist basher and thought i would share the thread.

  it started as a tirade against an article in a weekly emailzine about prince being a dub.

  Advice please

  i've got a situation which has meant that soon i will be in close proximity to someone i really don't want to bump into without being primed and having thought out some sensible responses.

  i don't want to be in a situation where the only response i have is to blow my stack and punch the guy out.. this guy is an elder, reasonably well switched on and a lifer.

  he's also an inflexible sob who is certain of his own righteousness.

  all, with the crappy weather this evening i hope you all made it home ok.

  i've just crawled home along the m4 on sheet ice for 4 hours and made it eventually.

  tickets for the glastonbury festival of performing arts go on sale on the 1st april .

  last years tickets went in 24 hours, all 100,000 of them so make sure you ar either online or on the phone at 9am to ensure your place.

  most brits on here will know what glastonbury is, and no doubt a fair few people the other side of the pond will have had their consciousness changed by this world leading event.

  Beards, can someone explain?

  can someone give me a sensible explaination as to why the jw's have banned beards?

  i was df'd in '90 just as this was becoming a big deal and at the time i thought it was completely rediculous what with jesus probably having a beard.

  it was one of the many things that led me to seeing that the gb make arbitrary rules and that the organisation has more to do with control than religion.
